Round 1: One Paper, Two Sections
Round 1：一份试卷，两个部分
The main olympiad paper. Section 1 is a run of short questions across the syllabus; Section 2 is a choice of long ones.

The two-hour paper is new for 2025–26. Earlier papers gave each section more time: the November 2024 Section 1, for instance, allowed 1 hour 20 minutes and capped the section at 50 marks from a larger pool of questions. The official page is frank about the level: students at team level typically score 70–80 per cent, and far lower scores already show real depth.

Awards and the invitation to Round 2奖项与 Round 2 邀请
Certificates go to roughly 150 Top Gold, 200 Gold, 400 Silver, 400 Bronze I, 400 Bronze II and 1,000 Commendation winners; book prizes generally go to Top Gold. These are target counts, not thresholds, and this site does not quote marks. Invitations to Round 2 in late January go to the Top Gold students who meet the Round 2 eligibility rules, and to some who performed well in one or more questions. Round 1 also counts towards an invitation to BAAO Round 2.
证书大致颁给 Top Gold 150 人、Gold 200 人、Silver 400 人、Bronze I 400 人、Bronze II 400 人、Commendation 1,000 人；Top Gold 一般另有书奖。这些是目标人数，不是分数线，本站不引用任何分数。1 月下旬 Round 2 的邀请发给符合 Round 2 资格要求的 Top Gold 学生，以及在一道或几道题上表现突出的学生。Round 1 成绩也是受邀参加 BAAO Round 2 的依据之一。
Entry is through Round 0 in October. Schools outside the UK enter through ASDAN China (schools in China) or seedcomp.asia (other international schools).
参赛须先通过 10 月的 Round 0。英国以外的学校经 ASDAN China（中国境内学校）或 seedcomp.asia（其他国际学校）报名。
